田野書寫、觀光行爲與傳統再造:印尼峇里與台灣台東「布農部落」的文化表演比較研究

摘要 Abstract
本論文主要檢視印尼峇裡島複雜的觀光文化與文化觀光的過程,及此過程涉入當地文化政策與文化認同的相關辯論。本文視峇裡的文化表演爲當地政府與知識菁英和殖民/中央政府進行社會政治協商的舞台,並透過文獻影像資料的反覆比較,以及與田野經驗的對比分析,探討外來書寫與觀光文化兩者的互滲互塑,以及對當地居民認知乃至再造傳統的文化過程的影響。本文並視作者的田野調查爲另一種扮演行爲,一種透過旅行觀察與交談的身體實踐;此研究書寫的意義在於,藉由實際排演峇里文化觀眾與觀視對象的種種互動,闡釋研究者與觀眾的互動,是整體文化過程中另一場重要的「文化表演」。
本論文還企圖將峇裡的研究模式,借鑑分析台灣原住民近年傳統再造與觀光工業的互動。本文選擇台東縣延平鄉「布農部落」爲主要討論對象,作爲個人思考與研究的起步,以及相關議題跨文化比較研究模式的初步嘗試。本文最終目的希望檢討田野書寫、觀光行爲、以及傳統再造三者的辯證與互涉,如何急速地在台灣原住民文化場域上演著,以及不同文化的人們,如何透過表演者的身體參與,共同形構觀者與演者的民族/文化認同,以及此認同論述與當局政策的聯繫(或失聯)。

This paper charts the complex process of the Balinese tourism culture and cultural tourism, as well as their interrelationship with the very lively local cultural policy making and the configuration of the island's national identity. Ⅰ consider the Balinese cultural performance a site of socio-political negotiation between the Balinese elitists, the local government, and the colonial/national authorities. To map out how the Balinese people produce and re-produce their cultural identity via such cultural performance, Ⅰ analyze the historical documents and theoretical narratives in terms of the historization of the Balinese cultural tourist industry. Ⅰ also compare my field work experience with existing narratives of the Balinese culture to hopefully provide a new approach to the performance behavior of cultural representation.
In addition, Ⅰ compare my study on the Balinese culture with the increasing touristization of the Taiwanese aboriginal tribal culture. Ⅰ chose the ”Tribal Bunong” to be my subject of study. My task here is not to conclude the heated debate on the governmental policy on the restoration of the Taiwanese aboriginal culture, but to shed light on the increasing interchange between the tourist industry, cultural policy making and the restoration of cultural traditions.
